Little Black Dress Initiative
The tenth annual Little Black Dress Initiative will take place November 16-22, 2025.
The Little Black Dress Initiative (LBDI) is a week-long awareness and fundraising campaign that illustrates the restrictions poverty places on choices, opportunities, and access to resources. Members wear a black dress or outfit for five consecutive days in an effort to spark conversations and awareness about poverty, food insecurity, and homelessness.
The dress/outfit represents the tough choices individuals living in poverty often have to make. By wearing a button that reads “Ask Me About My Dress” or “Ask Me About My Outfit,” LBDI invites dialogue among colleagues, friends, and strangers to raise awareness about food insecurity and poverty and how it affects our neighbors.
The funds collected fuel JLT’s community initiatives in the Leon County community.
