Little Black Dress Initiative

The eighth annual Little Black Dress Initiative will be observed November 13-17, 2023.

The Little Black Dress Initiative (LBDI) is a fundraising program during which Junior League of Tallahassee (JLT) members and LBDI advocates wear the same black dress or outfit for five consecutive days to raise awareness about food insecurity experienced by those living in poverty in our community.

The dress represents the tough choices individuals have to make when they are food insecure. By wearing a button that reads “Ask Me About My Dress” or “Ask Me About My Outfit,” LBDI advocates invite dialogue among colleagues, friends, and strangers to raise awareness about food insecurity and how it affects our community.

The funds collected fuel JLT’s outreach programs in the Tallahassee community.
